Sami Bradley: 1949–2009

Recording Academy Sr. Director, Governance Sami Bradley passed away March 20 at her home in Studio City, Calif. She was 59.

Bradley began at The Academy in 1992 as Education Assistant, before joining the Member Services department in 1996 as Project Manager. In 2005, Bradley transitioned to the Governance position.

Throughout her Academy tenure, Bradley was an enthusiastic and integral part of The Academy's growth, liaising with Academy Chapters, membership and elected leaders to help build membership, member retention and, in her recent position, she was involved in the creation and maintenance of The Academy's bylaws and Governance Manual.

Bradley was born in Miami. Prior to joining The Academy, she was a flight attendant for Pan American World Airways for 17 years. Bradley will be greatly missed by her Academy family.
