December 04, 2012 -- 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
The Recording Academy headquarters, 3030 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90404

Presented by Sharon Jakubecy, this program will help you discover the secrets many professional actors, musicians and athletes use to produce fluid performances. The Alexander Technique can teach you how to communicate with your body and achieve your peak performance.

Additional topics of discussion will include how to:

  • Improve posture and spinal alignment
  • Relieve and prevent pain
  • Reduce strain and muscular tension
  • Find better ways to manage stress
  • Increase range of motion, breathing capacity and overall energy
  • Improve balance and coordination
  • Exude a more radiant countenance and projection of voice

Jakubecy holds a B.A. from University of California San Diego and is also an AmSAT-certified Alexander Technique instructor who has studied the technique for more than 13 years. As an instructor she has witnessed hundreds of writers, doctors, teachers, singers, actors, cellists, and business executives achieve peak performance by giving them the tools to release harmful tension and "nail" demanding performances, presentations and public speaking engagements. She is on the faculty at Stella Adler Studio and American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has worked with organizations such as the Los Angeles Opera, Women in Theatre, Vox Humana, and children's hospitals.

Guests are welcome. There will be free validated parking.
