Getting Clean: $3,750
Addiction can be an occupational hazard of the music industry, and many of our brightest lights have been extinguished much too soon. Your gift will give the first weeks of life back to someone who is struggling. A typical stay in treatment starts at 28 days.
One Day at a Time: $1,100
After the hard work of getting sober is done, the even harder work of staying sober begins. Sober living facilities provide an important and effective transition back into the mainstream – a typical stay starts at two months.
Staying Healthy: $385
The preventative care that so many of us have access to is out-of-pocket for self-employed and often uninsured music professionals. MusiCares® Healthy Essentials program provides dental exams, mammograms, hearing, and other screenings to prevent problems before they become catastrophic.
Food on the Table: $275
Choosing between paying your medical bill or buying groceries is a devastating reality for many MusiCares® clients. Putting food on the table for our clients and their families alleviates this most basic of human concerns.
A Roof Over Your Head: $1,000
One of the most basic of human needs – shelter – is often threatened by other emergencies, from layoffs to medical issues. When these unforeseen circumstances arise, MusiCares® steps in to keep our clients in their homes.
Your Daily Dose: $123
Many medications we take for granted keep other more difficult and costly health conditions at bay. Lipitor, Celebrex, Prevacid and insulin are among the regular medications that once prescribed, are lifetime commitments – commitments that MusiCares® often keeps on behalf of its clients.
Tools of the Trade: $579
Losing an instrument deprives a musician of his livelihood, and also his life’s blood. Replacing an instrument reunites a musician with his identity and the community with the gift of music.
When the Diagnosis is ... $1,700
Chemotherapy, radiation and angiograms are life saving treatments when the diagnosis is serious. Even a patient with insurance will likely face deductibles and “pay-as-you-go” bills that far outstrip their ability to afford.
