GRAMMYs Going Green

The Recording Academy has worked with RideAmigos to set up a ride-sharing widget for the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards. This service is intended to help attendees be more eco-friendly, reduce congestion, and save money traveling while traveling to/from the event. This year, the first 100 carpools to sign up will be rewarded with free parking.

In the widget below, simply fill in where you are coming from, your email address, whether you are looking to drive or ride, and any pertinent information about your trip (e.g. willing to pick people up along way, looking to share a bus!, return home details). RideAmigos will then send you an email with instructions on how to find matching rides and a link to contact other attendees with similar itineraries. You can also connect with your Facebook account to show your friends how "green" you are, and that you are headed to the GRAMMYs!

Easy as can be... So have fun, make a new friend, and we'll see you there!

Greening The 55th GRAMMY Awards

Building on work initiated at the 50th GRAMMY Awards, ecologically intelligent practices have again been integrated into the planning and production of this year’s GRAMMY Awards. The Recording Academy collaborated with the Natural Resources Defense Council, a non partisan environmental organization, to continue the journey to reduce The Recording Academy’s ecological footprint. The paper products and other supplies that were bought and the services procured were selected with sensitivity toward reducing the threats we face from global warming, species extinction, deforestation, toxic waste, and hazardous chemicals in our water and food.
