GRAMMY Foundation Living Histories

Living Histories Mission

The GRAMMY Foundation's Living Histories program preserves on videotape the life stories of music industry pioneers who helped create the history of recorded sound. Individual oral histories and profiles of key individuals, companies, communities and other entities that have impacted the evolution of the music industry are chronicled.  This footage is available for research and educational purposes and is utilized by the GRAMMY Foundation to develop programs that tell the unique stories of our shared musical history through the unfiltered voices of key contributors and visionaries in the field.  To date, over 200 Living Histories have been completed documenting the life stories of legendary artists, producers, technology pioneers, executives, songwriters and other important figures.
