In April TOMS shoes began a journey across the Southwest on a tour that was unlike any in recent memory. Traveling exclusively in vintage railcars, the aptly titled Railroad Revival Tour featured Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Mumford & Sons and Old Crow Medicine Show in concert at six unique outdoor locations. TOMS brought a traveling musical version of its One for One campaign to each tour stop with a special booth set up featuring exclusive limited edition Railroad Revival Tour T-shirts. For each T-shirt purchased, a pair of new shoes was given to a child in need, and in addition, proceeds from each T-shirt were donated to a local high school music program located in communities at the six stops of the tour, made possible by the GRAMMY Foundation. The tour began in Oakland, Calif. on April 21, and included stops in San Pedro, Calif. (April 22), Tempe, Ariz. (April 23), and Marfa, Texas (April 24). Upcoming stops include Austin, Texas (April 26) and New Orleans (April 27).
